Creating a Custom Filter

If you wish to count, sort or contact a group of your patients based on one or more of their properties you can do this by creating a filter.
Examples of where this may be useful are:

Any number of filters can be run together to select specific patients based on any given characteristics.

Using Filter By and Filter Excluding

The Filter by selection and Filter excluding selection buttons search all patient records for those who match the current record on the selected field.
To select a field right click on it. To search for partial matches highlight the desired text:

By pressing Filter by selection with the displayed text highlighted we have filtered out all 306 patients with a birthday in February.
The number of filtered records is displayed in the bottom left hand corner of the screen and can be navigated through using the left and right arrow buttons.

Using Filter by Date Range

If you are interested in patients with a range of values you will need to use the Filter by date range tool.

This tool allows you to filter by various dates stored in PearlPlus such as appointment date, Date of Birth and Treatment Start and End dates.
The preset buttons at the top of the page help speed up date selection but any valid dates can be used as start and end dates.
Some filters, such as the No Appointments After Date filter require only a single date, while others, such Appointment Date allow extra layers of filtering by selecting only patients with appointments for a given practitioner.

Uses for Filtered Patients

Once you have selected all the patients you wish by using concurrent filters you can change, view or contact the patients directly through PearlPlus.
